Munich-based The Landbanking Group bags €10.5 million to launch an investment platform for natural capital
We are thrilled to announce our investment in the Landbanking Group:

The company is combining latest technologies to assess nature along dimensions such as carbon, water, soil & biodiversity, and to create individual natural capital accounts. They serve as underlying for landbanking claims that can be assetized and traded.
🎦 Here is an explainer video:
🦸🏼♀️🦸🏻♂️ The Landbanking Group was founded by Dr. Sonja Stuchtey & Prof. Dr. Martin R. Stuchtey.

Sonja is a successful ex-consultant and serial founder. Her companies have created impressive positive impact e.g. in area such as science education and fighting misinformation campaigns.
Martin has spent 20 years at McKinsey, leading the global sustainability practice and later founded Systemiq Ltd., a consultancy and fund with hundreds of consultants driving sustainable systems change.
🤝 They surrounded themselves with an incredible team of scientists, regenerative agriculture, technology & other experts and entrepreneurs. For instance, Tobias Bandel and Tanvi Bhardwaj.
Together, they set out to turn supply chain costs for nature-positive land-use practices (insetting!) into an investment and pioneer markets for natural capital uplifts beyond the voluntary carbon market.
🗺 They already have >15 customers such as Weleda, with projects across the globe.
We are proud to join our co-Investors BonVenture, Planet A Ventures and notable angels in the Landbanking Group’s seed round.
👩🌾 We also outlined an early use case in the food & agriculture space here: https://lnkd.in/dBE4JPCx
🤗 Welcome to our Vanagon portfolio, dear Landbanking Group team!
